The Seven Trumpets - Part 2

REVELATION 9 v 1-11
What happens to God's people during all this?
The fifth trumpet brings forth a judgement which has been seen before on smaller scales. Exodus 10 v 3-6 - "3 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, “This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may worship me. 4 If you refuse to let them go, I will bring locusts into your country tomorrow. 5 They will cover the face of the ground so that it cannot be seen. They will devour what little you have left after the hail, including every tree that is growing in your fields. 6 They will fill your houses and those of all your officials and all the Egyptians—something neither your parents nor your ancestors have ever seen from the day they settled in this land till now.’” Then Moses turned and left Pharaoh." Pharaoh and his people were judged by God with 10 different plagues, of the most destructive things. Linking to a previous trumpet - darkness was also one of the 10 plagues. Locusts destroyed everything they left the place and the people in big problems afterwards.

This star that fell from heaven could represent Satan (the fallen angel) or Christ. The key to the abyss is held by Christ. This place the Abyss is where all the demons and Satan live and dwell. This picture of hell and the abyss comes here when smoke and fire come as Christ opens up the Abyss. Out of the smoke come an army of Locusts.

The Locusts represent Satan's demons; they have come to - distort, prevent and destroy people’s relationship with God. But God's people have a seal on their head of God. This plague of locusts symbolises the day of the Lord is near. Joel 2 v 1-11, describes an army of locusts and the things that precede them are the same as the previous trumpets. God had spoken these judgements before they weren't new judgements, they had happened before like in Exodus. God used the locusts to represent those three key factors::
1.  Distort - our vision and communication with God. To cross wires and send false messages.
2.  Prevent - our connection with God. Put obstacles in the way and put the temptations there.
3.  Destroy - our relationship with God. To not even leave remnants of it, but to completely destroy it.
I believe the devil and his demons are trying to do these things today. Just as locusts eat away the fruit of the plants he wants to distort our communication with God. Just as the locusts eat away at the plant itself to it can't fruit they want to prevent that from happening. Just as the locusts destroy every last cell of the plant they want to destroy any remnant of our relationship with God.

But we have / can have the seal of God so he will protect in the coming judgement. But there are still these everyday battles to fight and we need to put on the armour of God (Ephesians 6 v 10-18) to stand strong for God and strengthen our relationship with Him.
