The End Leaves Space For The New

JEREMIAH 51 v 36-64
If something has died off in an area does that mean nothing else can grow there again?
-  God was finishing off his words to the Babylonians, how they would finally be destroyed but intertwined within God's judgement are rays of light and hope for the Israelites.
-  Some ministries or churches have been in places and they have died off for one reason or another. But can we another church there?
-  I think it is all dependent on where God calls us to.
-  The Israelites where going rebuild their nation and if it was going to succeed it needed to have God at the centre.
-  The Israelites were the signs of new life after the Babylonians were destroyed, in a land full of death and covered with salt so nothing could grow. God brings the Israelites up out of the ashes.
-  How hard are we willing to work for growth?
-  As we well know God won't do it all for us. The Israelites had seen God sovereignty and judgement in Jerusalem and Babylon. They had to put all their trust in God and lean on his understanding (Proverbs 3 v 5-6).
-  I believe this the process of growth with God - Romans 5 v 3-5, " 1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." This process is what the Israelites and everyone who follows God went/goes through. Problems/trials - Perseverance - Character - Hope.
-  How willing are we to be the new life in place God has called us to? How willing are we to be new life in a place that is dead?
